About Kerry

“I am an independent, licensed Occupational Therapist who specializes in assessing and treating individuals (ages 15+) with mild to moderate cognitive deficits. Over the past 9 years, I have worked as a Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist assessing and treating individuals primarily with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury, post-concussion syndrome, and early dementia. I have extensive evidence-based training in cognitive rehabilitation through ACRM. Additional course trainings include CBT-I (treatment for insomnia), relaxation/mindfulness, concussion, brain health, mental health, nutrition, trauma, and chronic pain. I keep current on the latest developments in the field by pursuing continuing education credits with a focus on evidence-based practice.”

“I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, then went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Samuel Merritt College in Oakland, CA. I have 20+ years of experience as an Occupational Therapist working in a variety of settings (hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient clinics) treating people with a multitude of physical and cognitive disorders. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time outdoors with my husband, two kids, and two pugs.”

“My approach to treatment is holistic, covering aspects such as physical pain, emotional distress, sleep, and cognitive issues. The individual is provided with the necessary tools to help them function effectively in daily activities, including work, school, home management, and play/leisure.”
